I decided to write a iHeater review because last winter, my wife and I had the misfortune of receiving a $500 heating bill for our home. Our eyes nearly popped out of our heads!

We knew we had to do something. “Just keep the heat down to 58 instead of 68,” my wife told me. I heeded her advice and — after a few weeks of shivering on the couch with a cold nose and fingertips, dressed in blankets, gloves and winter hats — I bought the iHeater I had seen on TV.

I felt comfortable buying this product because I knew I could get a risk-free 30-day money-back guarantee and free shipping too. Like comparable quart infrared heaters, the iHeater had a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty, which is always a comfort when you’re trying something new.

I also read several iHeater reviews and it seems that everyone loves it.  So I decided to take them up on their free shipping and 30 day money back guarnatee. I had nothing to lose expect my huge heating bill.

As advertised, the iHeater warmed up the living room, dining room and kitchen of my lower level with ease. I couldn’t believe so much warmth emanated from such a small box!

I cleared all the blankets off my couch to make the room look more presentable and enjoyed the toasty atmosphere created by this neat little heater. It was nice to have company over and hear no one complain, “Gosh, it’s cold in here!”

My cats purred and rubbed their faces all over the corners of the heater (as cats will do to anything new) and due to the iHeater’s safe design, they did not hurt themselves. Boy, have space heaters come a long way since the seventies and eighties! I highly recommend this product to families with pets and kids.

Initially, I was worried that the iHeater might be like the last space heater I owned – a rickety racket! Since we had the heater set up in between the living and dining rooms, I didn’t want to have to turn the TV volume up to 40 or shout to my wife at the dinner table. I’ve heard that the 2008 model was a little noisier, but the manufacturers must have taken customer feedback into consideration because my newer model was whisper-quiet!

I also wondered if I would need to buy a humidifier because some heaters zap all the moisture out of the air. My mother-in-law’s heater leaves us with dry eyes, sore throats and static-infused clothes. Luckily, my iHeater blasted out comfortable air that seemed neither wet, nor dry. The rooms were all very comfortable, thanks to infrared technology, my manual said. I learned that the iHeater works using the old style coil system, rather than actual fire, propane or kerosene – which can be very dangerous in the home.

A month later, I sighed with relief when I saw our heating bill was under $200. We knew that with a few more adjustments like new insulation and better window seals, we would save even more.

The iHeater was the most cost-effective quick-fix to stop us from hemorrhaging money all winter long! It also solved our thermostat wars so my wife and I could relax comfortably, without choosing between saving money and being comfortably toasty.

iHeater Consumer Reports

There is no iHeater Consumer Reports article to guide buyers. As much as Consumer Reports would like to test every quartz infrared heater on the market they just don’t have the funds or manpower to do so.

So one may be left scratching his or her head wondering, “Does the iHeater really work?” One may, however, find an article about the similar EdenPure heaters, which begs the opening question: “Are EdenPure Space Heaters Just A Lot of Hot Air?”

When tested, the reviewers were not so impressed, giving EdenPure a score of  only 24 out of 100. The temperature control was “lackluster” and “not particularly easy to use.” Had there been an iHeater Consumer Reports article, they likely would have noticed the tremendous difference between the two displays. The iHeater’s attractive-looking and user-friendly digital dial is a blessing by comparison. The iHeater remote control makes the space heater even easier to use, especially for people who like to be “masters” of their domain.

When reviewing the EdenPure model, Consumer Reports also commented that the old models were “pricey” and “lacked an overheat protection feature.” An iHeater Consumer Reports study would find that iHeater is less expensive than EdenPure and has important safety features – like automatic shut-off tip-over protection and reliable over-heat protection device.

Consumer Reports forewarned possible buyers about any claim that the EdenPure heaters can “reduce heating bills 50%” because this caliber of savings requires lowering the home thermostat 17 degrees Fahrenheit. One must also consider that there are electricity costs associated with operating space heaters. However, the iHeater costs less than $1 a day to operate, which provides a huge cost savings for people with out-of-control heating bills.

In February 2010, Consumer Reports comments that the new EdenPure Gen 3 Model 1000 space heater “improves upon the old design but still isn’t paradise in a box.” Perhaps they would have been much happier with an iHeater! Until then, we’ll await the iHeater Consumer Reports article to come out and settle the debate once and for all.

iHeater Scam

Are you wondering about this iHeater scam talked about at some iHeater review sites? Surely by now you’ve heard the rumors that the iHeater scam promises to cut down your heating bill a good 50% and run off just pennies’ worth of electricity every day. How can that be true? It sounds like a sweet deal, but can it be trusted?

You’re not the first and you certainly won’t be the last to wonder about this new craze sweeping households across America. In this blog, you’ll learn about the hype surrounding the iHeater scam and perhaps you’ll conclude it’s not really a scam at all.

Rumors of the iHeater scam began by people who likely didn’t use the product as intended. Often people feel that 1,000 square feet looks like much more than what it really is. The iHeater is designed to heat one or two adjacent rooms, but not the entire house all at once. The caster wheels and small size make it easy to transport around if need be.

Some people complain of an iHeater scam because they misunderstood the warranty. They complain that there is a “no return” policy, when in fact, there is a 30-day risk-free trial when purchased through official, legitimate sellers.

There is also a one-year manufacturer’s warranty on this product which carries a lifetime of 60,000 hours (or about nine years). Be careful where you purchase iHeater from, as some sites are unauthorized third party resellers that sell at undercut prices and make up their own rules about returns.

Others might complain that the iHeater scam “tricked” them because it puts out “as much heat as a hair dryer.” Sometimes we have to gently tell consumers that the iHeater actually has three different settings for small, medium and large rooms. You wouldn’t want a hurricane wind of heat blasting into a tiny bathroom or baby’s room, after all.

Usually when someone e-mails me they have this type of complaint, Ilet them know that it’s actually quite simple to switch the dial to the appropriate setting and the issue is resolved. Also, generally speaking, the heat doesn’t “blast” out like some are used to with kerosene space heaters or old styles. The coil system is designed to radiate a steady, even heat at a whisper-quiet decibel. You’ll note within 30 minutes, you’re not even concerned about it at all.

You can decide for yourself whether you should be concerned about the “iHeater scam,” but remember to take everything you read with a grain of salt. No one wants to admit operator error, after all!

The iHeater vs EdenPure. Which is better?

You’ve seen them both on TV, they look sort of similar – so how can you tell the iHeater apart from the EdenPure? After all, if you buy sensibly, you can expect your new heater to last you up to 10 years, so you want to choose a style and brand that will endure. In this blog, you’ll find all the information you need to make a conscientious decision on the iHeater vs EdenPure methods to keep your home toasty warm this winter.

iHeater:

The iHeater is less expensive than EdenPure. The iHeater 1500 heats 1,500 square feet vs. 1,000 with EdenPure. The infrared coils are one of the best features of the iHeater because they do not dry out the air, they heat evenly, and they are safe to use. The iHeater promises to reduce heating bills up to 50%, costing just pennies a day to operate.

EdenPure:

EdenPure’s exterior comes in wood or black, much like iHeater’s, but you may find the front panel display to be a little more 70s/80s looking compared to iHeater’s sleek digital display. The cord is 8 feet, compared to the iHeater’s 6 foot cord, which may be important to you since you cannot use an extension cord with indoor heaters. Another bonus is EdenPure’s 5-year manufacturer warranty, compared to iHeater’s 1-year warranty. The advanced models may come with built-in humidifiers.

When looking at the iHeater vs EdenPure, both products come with lifetime washable air filters, 30-day guarantees, free shipping, caster wheels and remote controls for easy adjusting. Both heaters will warm up a space of roughly 1,000 square feet. If you want to heat more then 1,000 square feet I recommend you consider the iHeater.

Models like the iHeater 1500 and the EdenPure US 1000 are made right here in the United States, rather than in Asia. Whichever product you choose, you will be satisfied knowing you’ve found the perfect marriage between warm, cozy winters and savvy cost-savings!
